Maria Bhavan F.C. Convent was established on 2nd July 1988 in Vavode,a very remote place in the district of Thiruvananthapuram with a view to inculcate the Christian Faith in all the people here especially among the Nadar people. Keeping this in mind, the sisters began primary school to impart education. Now it functions as a U.P. School. The sisters also serve in two Open Jails that of Nettukaltheri and Thevancode. On 27th July,2013 the Silver Jubilee of the convent was celebrated in a solemn manner
